Our Mission: TMD strives to create innovative, ensemble-based theatre which educates, entertains, and inspires people of all ages and social backgrounds while developing the talent of artists who call the Midwest their home.

Thanks for visiting The Mechanical Division online! We are the newest place to see fun, innovative, cutting edge theatre in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. How new are we? Brand spankin'. In fact, we just had our first birthday. But that's not the only thing we're celebrating. We're a group of young artists who've been working together for years, so we're very excited to finally make it official.

TMD is not your parents' theatre company. We believe theatre should be, first and foremost, a fun experience for the audience. We're not stuffy. We're not boring. We're not elitist. We'll always try our best to make sure you desperately want to come back. However, we're not all fun and games at TMD. We take pride in what we do. We want to educate and inspire our audiences and we work hard to achieve the highest artistic levels. But we also acknowledge the fact that it's very difficult to educate and inspire someone if they fall asleep before intermission.

We're currently in the process of obtaining our non-profit status. That should be official in the very near future. We're also developing a Youth Program which will include shows for the tiniest TMD patrons.
